BNE Airport Car Wash FAQs

When are you open?

We’re open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year — including public and bank holidays.
Our wash is also attended daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, weather permitting. If you need assistance during these hours, our friendly staff are here to help.

Yes — we accept both cash and card on all equipment, including:

• Laserwash
• Self-Serve Bays
• Vacuums
• AirFuka Blower
• Vending Machine

We also provide change machines on-site for your convenience.

Need help using cash or any equipment? Just ask one of our team members during attended hours.

Our Laserwash is a powerful, touch-free clean. However, some stubborn grime like baked-on insects or road film needs pre-treatment.

Machines can’t see grime, and they won’t scrub physical debris.

If your car hasn’t been washed for a few weeks, road grime may bond to the paint.

If you feel a slippery film on your paint, it’s too much for any chemical or machine to safely remove.

Best Results Tip: Use a self-serve bay with pre-soak and foam brush on trouble areas, then finish with a Laserwash.

Brake dust is tough. It bonds to rims with heat.

Jet angles can’t reach inside tight spokes.

For best results, we recommend a quick manual clean in a self-serve bay before using the Laserwash.

The underbody/side wheel blasters help with this also so best to upgrade your wash according.

Not at all. Our system is:

  • 100% touchless
  • Uses Australian-made, non-corrosive chemicals
  • Safe for ceramic coatings and waxes

It actually helps extend the life of your protection layer!

Some drip points (like under mirrors or spoilers) may leave soap or rinse spots after drying. These are harmless and can be wiped with a chamois or microfiber towel.

We are also soon bringing in an AirFuka blower from Europe. This is a revolutionary touch-free air during solution to remove remaining water that can cause spots and streaks. See attached link for further information  https://airfuka.com/

We use spot-free rinse to reduce water marks from town water.

Each soap line runs individually from the engine room. When switching, it takes 5–8 seconds to flush the previous product.

Tip: Leave a small patch to clean while the new product flows through, then finish with the next setting.

The Self-Serve machines require $2 to start them. You will get two minutes for $2

Our soaps are slightly acidic (to remove alkaline road grim, grease and brake dust) and slightly alkaline (to remove acidic bird poo and tree sap).  Quite often Ceramic Coating suppliers will demand you use pH neutral soaps to avoid damaging their product – however we wash thousands of cars with ceramic coatings (including our own) with no issues. Ultimately the choice is yours.

The Laserwash is restricted to 2.3m

Self-Serve bays are up to 4.3m. This varies on some of the bays and the height restrictions are shown at the top of the bays.

We also have extender booms in Bay 5 to allow you to get around your vehicle, caravan, bus or truck.
Fading is caused by UV damage, not washing. Black plastic trim lacks protective coatings and can fade in just 2 years from sun exposure. To protect and restore trim use a UV protectant regularly. Try using ArmorAll Original Protectant for internal surfaces and ArmorAll Ultra Shine Tire & Trim Shine sponges available from our Vending Machines. Our wash is not to blame — we use safe, Australian-made cleaning products.

We hold onto all lost property for one week. Please come back to the wash to see if it is still there. Note that in some instances left property is taken by other members of the public and we are not responsible for any items left at the wash.

This is not possible as the automatic Laserwash is touch-free. The only thing on contact with your car is soaps, waxes and water.

If you used the self-serve bays, the only thing that comes in contact with your vehicle is the foamy brush. These are made from high quality hogs hair and do not scratch your car. You should clean both your vehicle and the brush with the high-pressure gun before using the foamy brush.
